Theatrical Journey: Is a 6-week visual performing arts program for kids ages 10-17. Theatrical Journey VPAP is a comprehensive program that provides youth with opportunities for artistic expression and creativity, nurturing their individual and collective talents, and promoting cultural enrichment. The six week program curriculum is as follows:
- Understanding the structure and formatting of scripts
- Learning to develop engaging characters and plotlines
- Exploring different genres and styles of scriptwriting
- Introduction to basic acting skills, including voice projection, body language, and stage presence
- Exploring various acting techniques such as method acting, improvisation, and character development
- Practicing monologues and scene work to enhance performance skills
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a stage manager
- Learning about organizing rehearsals, cueing, and running a smooth production
- Exploring the technical aspects of stage management, including lighting, sound, and props
- Introduction to set design principles and concepts
- Learning the basics of set construction, including materials, tools, and safety precautions
- Collaborative project: Designing and building a miniature set for a chosen scene
- Exploring techniques for creating captivating set scenery
- Learning about color theory, texture, and visual composition for set design
- Collaborative project: Transforming a virtual space with digital scenery and decor
- Understanding the importance of props in enhancing storytelling
- Learning techniques for creating and acquiring props on a limited budget
- Collaborative project: Designing and building props for a chosen scene
