Theatrical Journey: A Visual Performing Arts Program
Theatrical Journey is a dynamic program by Dream2b designed for all community residents to explore the visual and performing arts world. The program begins with an introduction to scriptwriting, where participants learn to structure scripts, develop characters, and explore different genres. The program continues with acting techniques, including voice projection, body language, and various acting methods. Participants will practice monologues and scene work to hone their performance skills. Further into the program, participants get into stage management, learning the responsibilities of a stage manager, organizing rehearsals, and understanding the technical aspects of production.
Before concluding, participants will explore the creative processes of set building, set scenery, decor, and prop building. They will learn set design principles, collaborate on miniature set construction, and explore techniques for creating captivating scenery and props. Each interactive online and in-person session features video demonstrations and practical assignments, encouraging peer collaboration and one-on-one instruction from experienced instructors. The program culminates with a live theatrical performance where participants showcase their newly acquired skills and present their work to the community.
